Dr. Sam F. Khoury was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Santa Clara University and pursued a career in research. His interest in finding new therapeutics led him to consider a career in the health care field. Dental school took him to the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Khoury graduated in the top 5% of his class and was inducted in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. In addition to his scholastic achievements, he obtained numerous research grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Dr. Khoury returned to Northern California to complete a four year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center. During his residency, he also trained at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, Children's Hospital Oakland, and University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr. Khoury has published several scientific articles which have won national awards. He also teaches at the University of the Pacific and is an attending surgeon training residents at Highland General Hospital Oakland.
His practice interests encompass a full-scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a focus on dentoalveolar surgery, implants, pathology, and orthognathic surgery.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Khoury enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and biking.
